Digital Shoreditch, together with partners, present the Million Pound Startup. Offering one company one million pounds in investment funding. The £1 million pounds will help grow the company into a £100,000,000 net worth enterprise

Rules

You, your company and your product or service should be:

  • Represented by a person over 18 years old.
  • Turn over less than £1M per year and trading for less than 10 years.
  • Prepared to move your business headquarters to London. We will help and support you with this along the way.
  • Your startup can not be about : gambling, pornography, violence or illegal activity.

Process

  • Entry deadline is 29th August 2013 – Enter the contest by answering basic questions about your company. This information is public and supporters will examine the entry and provide feedback.
  • Assessment is to November 2013 – If you’re through you’ll need to provide a little more info, this will be assessed to decide the finalists.
  • Due Diligence & winner selected December 2013 – If you’re a finalist, you’ll go through due diligence and panel of experts and investors. If all is good you may become the winner! Happy times.

INNOVATION PRIZE FOR AFRICA (IPA)

The Innovation Prize for Africa (IPA) is committed to building a promising future by investing in Africa’s capacity is to cultivate local innovation and entrepreneurship. Creating African-led solutions to every day challenges is critical to sustaining and expanding Africa’s economic growth.

The IPA invests in Africa’s greatest resources – its human capital, and encourages Africans to develop creative ways to overcome everyday challenges. In 2012, the IPA winner, Prof Mohamed Sanad, received USD 100,000 for creating a lightweight antenna that leapfrogs current solutions to provide better mobile access. IPA 2013 winner, AgriProtein, uses fly larvae to produce protein for animal feed. These are practical solutions that make a profound difference in people’s lives.
